Unifem Australia has undertaken a report on its recent Afghanistan project. Unifem representatives visited Kabul in May 2003 to meet with various other women’s groups and to attend a conference on women’s rights, law and justice in Afghanistan.

The report resulted from the meeting and conference together with suggestions for future approaches on women’s rights in Afghanistan.

Unifem is providing and seeking to develop programs that assist Afghan women to enjoy strong women institutions, full participation in the development of Afghanistan, support women’s economic security and promote women’s rights and protection against violence.
