The Grand Art and Literature Competition (GALC) 2003 was
officially launched in New Zealand with a message from
Prime Minister the Right Hon Helen Clark appearing on
New Zealand Education Gazette on 7 July 2003.
Prime
Minister Helen Clark encouraged New Zealand students
to enter the competition, saying it offered a range
of benefits. "The competition is an opportunity
for young New Zealanders and Australians to find out
what it means to be a global citizen, by contributing
their solutions and vision for the future of Afghanistan.
Students might consider how Afghanistan rebuilds its
agricultural sector and infrastructure.
