'Friends of Afghanistan', a project of the Cultural & Educational Centre of Afghanistan (CECA) Incorporated, brings together Australian and New Zealanders with the Afghan people to share perspectives and interests, on everything from the reconstruction of Kabul to Afghan home-cooking. By joining us, you express your support for the people of a war-ravaged land, and celebrate their resilience and survival.

Patrons of the Centre include former Australian Federal Minister for Communications, Information Technology and the Arts, Mr. Richard Alston.

Members of the Advisory Board of the Centre include renowned media presenter Mark Davis of SBS Television, respected academic Professor William Maley, expert in the history of early Afghans in Australia Christine Stevens, the voice of Afghan music in Australia Ustad Sarshar and Afghan culture specialist Rosemary Jeffcott. Afghan Ambassador to Australia and author and journalist Christopher Kremmer are Honorary members of the Advisory Board.

From the first Afghan camel drivers to today's refugees, Australia and New Zealand have a long history of links to land-locked Afghanistan.
