| November 20, 2012- President Hamid Karzai met today with General David Richards, British Chief of the Defence Staff to discuss issues of mutual interest.
At the meeting held in the Presidential Palace, the two sides discussed the peace process in Afghanistan, and bilateral relations and cooperation between their countries beyond 2014.
President Karzai and the Chief of the Defence Staff described as successful the ongoing peace process in the country. It was hoped that immediate and effective actions be taken to this end.
Both the sides had talks on bilateral relations between Afghanistan and Pakistan, urging for a close cooperation between the two states against terrorism and radicalism.
Discussions were also made in the meeting on Afghanistan-Pakistan-Britain next trilateral session, which was agreed to be held in a near future.
